Sovay Berriman has received an Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grant to support new research and artwork. The focus of this new work is damp. Living with it, navigating it, and looking at how it finds its way in to our homes and building fabric.
The research will culminate in an exhibition at Auction House in April next year, followed by a series of film screenings at University of Reading, Exeter Phoenix and MIRROR at Arts University Plymouth.
Public art workshops will be taking place at Alma Artspace, Museum of Cornish Life and Kresen Kernow this Autumn. The workshops will offer a chance to play with various materials, making works on paper drawn from personal experiences of living with damp. See Sovay’s website for more information, including ways to contribute to the research.
