Creative shamanic workshops in Devon

My shamanic teacher said many years ago that sometimes holy beings come and dwell in the bodies of animals. I already knew this, as I had been fortunate in knowing some very special animals. But I’d never said it out loud, or heard it spoken by anyone else.

In this course we’ll consider our connections to animals. We’ll look at stories of saints and animals, and we’ll reflect deeply on what it could mean to have a saintly nature.
The poet Rilke said that animals are ‘always in the womb of creation’: they are always in the present moment.

In both courses we will make shamanic journeys (full instructions given!), work with the breath, meditation, drawing, writing and painting/colour.

May 29th – 31st Saints and the Animals; or, The Saintly Nature.

In this course we will reflect on the nature of imagery which comes to us through dreams, daydreams, the creative process, and meditations. We will consider how the images arrive, how we work with them, what their true nature is, and how it unfurls itself onto our awareness or paper, canvas.

August 7th – 10th Creativity, the Cosmos and the Body. Existential Tissue: Presence and Absence.
