We are offering travel bursaries of £250 to any Creative Kernow Associates member who may be selected for the 2025 ArtHouse Jersey Artist Lock-in.
Deadline: 6pm on 11th November 2024
About ArtHouse Jersey Artist Lock-In
ArtHouse Jersey Artist Lock-Ins are professionally facilitated residencies that bring creative people from a variety of disciplines, ages, backgrounds and experiences together to learn from each other and to respond to their surroundings. Its aim is to provide artists with the time and space to consider new ways of working and collaborate with people of different practices.
For the 2025 programme, participants will spend a week immersed in the historic walls of Elizabeth Castle, where the rhythm of the tides shapes your creative process and every moment is an invitation to collaborate and innovate.
What Does This Offer?
For its ninth iteration, taking place between Sunday 9 and Sunday 16 March 2025 at the historic island fortress of Elizabeth Castle in St. Aubin’s Bay, this residency offers twelve adventurous artists the chance to explore, collaborate, and innovate in a truly unique setting where art, nature, and community converge. The residency will be facilitated by Sue Hill and Francesca Duncan.
This fully residential programme requires artists to cover their travel expenses to Jersey. Once you have arrived at Elizabeth Castle your accommodation, meals, and materials are provided at no cost. Accommodation at the newly refurbished Elizabeth Castle is in shared bedrooms. Artists will remain on the islet for the duration of the residency, fostering a truly immersive experience.
Creative Kernow Associates is offering £250 travel bursary to any member selected to be part of the 2025 Lock-in.
Who Is This For?
The Lock-in is open to artists over 21 from all disciplines, with a committed professional practice and ideal for those new to residencies, focusing on collaboration. The residency is international but will be conducted in English, so participants should have a confident grasp of the English language. To make the most of the opportunity, participants should also be reasonably fit and prepared to work outdoors.
The Creative Kernow Associates Travel Bursary is open to our members only. Any artists based in Cornwall / IOS who were selected for the Lock-in will need to sign up to be a CKA member to benefit from the bursary. Our membership starts from £5/month.
