I am hosting a Seaweed Weaving Workshop on Saturday 7th November, 10 am – 1 pm at Castle Beach, Falmouth.
Building off my seaweed weaving Fun Palace at Krowjis open Studios in October, I am holding a workshop where people can connect, explore and play with the sensory, tactile nature of seaweed and engage in the meditative process of weaving with it.
We will be foraging for seaweed, engaging with all its sensory elements: the colours, textures, touch and smell. Then, we will explore how they interact by weaving them on a small handmade frame loom.
The process continues after the workshop as the seaweed dries and evolves over time into a unique, intricate wall hanging.
No prior weaving experience necessary and for all ages.
