Klys Ceramics
Wheel thrown stoneware ceramics designed and made on the north coast of Cornwall.
All pieces are functional and inspired by the Cornish light and landscape.
All glazes are handmade – some are very neutral tones designed to showcase the clay, while others are floating blues with movement in them which interact and change with the light throughout the day.
Klys Ceramics will be at MAKE Southwest from 7th April to 18th May.
EOT Ceramics
EOT Ceramics is the studio practice of Cornwall-based potter Emily Tapp. Emily’s wheel-thrown stoneware ceramics evoke glassy coves, changing skies and salted rock faces. With rutile and iron oxide glazes made from scratch, she creates variegated, natural surfaces that catch the light of the coast.
Gloss-glazed interiors and a high-fired stoneware body ensure durability and functionality – pieces are suitable for the dishwasher and microwave and are intended for daily use. The gloss interior and matte exterior glazes melt together on the outside of each piece’s rim, forming a unique design detail that runs throughout the entire range.
EOT Ceramics will be at MAKE Southwest from 19th May to 29th June.
Weaver Rae
Rae Weaver is a handweaver of unique and tiny batch luxury accessories of pure British and Westcountry wool. Self-taught, she began weaving in 2020 when her partner designed and built her her own a loom, now evolved into a unique 8-shaft Dobby floor loom with flying shuttle.
A plantswoman by original trade, Rae had no previous business or textile design background. She has been working as a professional weaver since early 2024. She makes blanket scarves, scarves, cowls, mitts and now hot water bottle covers working from home. She uses wool due to it being a natural, native and abundant resource with many therapeutic benefits.
Rae’s work will be at MAKE Southwest from 19th May to 29th June.
