A series of professional training days focusing on nature connection, community wellbeing, and creative practice will take place this September at Tehidy.

Organised around Mitber’s “Active Looking Principles,” the workshops are aimed at individuals and organisations looking to integrate creative, plant-based, and reflective practices into community work.

Schedule of Workshops

Sustainable Darkroom Skills (Cyanotype & Anthotype): Tuesday, 8th September (9:30-15:00) – Covers low-toxicity and plant-based photography processes alongside professional artist-photographers.

Measuring Impact via the 5 Pathways to Nature Connection: Thursday, 10th September (9:30-15:00) – Demonstrates how to collect qualitative and quantitative project data using the Mitber Nature Connection Wheel Mat, based on University of Derby research.

Sustainable Inks & Materials: Wednesday, 16th September (9:30-15:00) – Instruction on creating ink and charcoal from natural and reclaimed materials.

Smartphone Photography: Monday, 21st September (9:30-15:00) – Focuses on everyday photography techniques, digital inclusion, and community engagement.

Pricing

Each training day costs £120 per person and includes lunch. Practical manuals, toolkits, and resource packs are available for separate purchase alongside each course.

Subsidies may be available for Voluntary, Community, or Social Enterprise (VCSE) organizations in Cornwall through the Cornwall VSF Learning Academy. Eligible organisations can inquire via lorna.phillips@cornwallvsf.org.
