MAKE Southwest: Exhibitor Announcement

Roxanne Gilbert is a contemporary jewellery artist based in Falmouth, creating intricate wearable sculptures informed by the textures, tones and prismatic qualities of light within the natural world — from the repetition of feathers and scales to the luminosity of the moon and ever-shifting skies.

Using precious and reactive metals, Roxanne combines traditional silversmithing techniques alongside modern technologies to create unique, bold jewellery. She explores the movement of light across surfaces, where depth, gradient and reflection combine to produce luminosity. Through her practice, she seeks to translate moments of natural awe into tactile, contemplative forms.

Roxanne’s work will be at MAKE Southwest in August and September 2026.

Jessica launched her jewellery brand in 2005 after earning a First Class Honors degree in Jewellery and Silversmithing from Birmingham City University. Since then, she has been honing her designs and enhancing her skills, always eager to embrace new learning opportunities. After relocating to the coast and welcoming two children, she finds inspiration in her surroundings, particularly the breathtaking Cornish coastline. She crafts her pieces from recycled silver, incorporating various finishes like oxidising and gold plating. Her designs often evolve during the creation process, with gemstones and pearls adding subtle hues and elegance. She enjoys exploring scale and patterns in both two and three dimensions, creating modern heirlooms that can be cherished for years to come.

Klys Ceramics is run by Emma from a small pottery studio on the north coast of Cornwall. Working with local Cornish clay, she makes wheel-thrown ceramics with simple, tactile and gently flowing forms, designed to be used and enjoyed every day.
