We are inviting ideas from creative and cultural practitioners and organisations across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to host activity and experience-led social events between May and August 2025 as part of our Creative Kernow Associates (CKA) Mixers event series.
Deadline: 5pm on Monday 3rd March 2025
About CKA Mixers
The CKA mixer events are playful and informal happenings, a space to connect and an opportunity for the hosts to share their work and skills.
The event can be hosted in your own space or a hired venue. Each event can feature an activity, such as working with a creative medium (music, clay, paper, dance, print, film, tech etc.), or an experience, such as a private tour, a wellbeing-focused session – anything you can think of, as long as it’s fun, playful and it helps people interact with each other. The activity/experience should not last for more than two hours.
Practical Information
We are looking to fund four events in total throughout the four months, and we will be looking for a geographical spread as well as a variety of events.
Inclusivity: We encourage you to consider the accessibility and make your event as inclusive as possible. This is not just in terms of visible disabilities, but also neurodiversity, transport access and other factors that may deter or compromise someone’s participation.
Budget: £250 for each event including fee for the host, material costs and venue (if required). Please bear this in mind when submitting your idea.
Attendance: At least 10 attendees at each event, and be open to creative and cultural practitioners of all disciplines.
Booking & Logistics: CKA will manage the publication and bookings of each event. You need to be a CKA member to apply, and can host one mixer event per year.
