Art, Place and Possibility: Contemporary Arts in Cornwall: a conversation with Teresa Gleadowe
Higher Spargo School of Art
Join us for an evening with curator and producer Teresa Gleadowe, who will be in conversation about her work developing ambitious public programmes in Cornwall and beyond. Teresa’s work has contributed significantly to shaping contemporary visual arts in the region.
Through CAST and Groundwork, she has helped create platforms where artists can live, work and develop ideas within a rural and coastal context — demonstrating that serious, critically engaged practice can flourish outside metropolitan centres. This conversation will explore what it means to build lasting cultural infrastructure in Cornwall: the opportunities, the constraints, and the importance of long-term commitment to place and community. The evening will conclude with questions from the audience.
Suitable for artists, organisers, students and anyone interested in how thoughtful, artist-led spaces come into being and endure.
